Day trips to Provence from Nice & the French Riviera
Excursion to the Verdon Gorge — Small Group Day Trip from Nice
Discover the Verdon Gorge — turquoise waters, dramatic cliffs, panoramic roads and authentic Provençal villages. It’s a spectacular nature day with photo stops, free time in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, and (in season) the option to get on the water (pedal boat / electric boat / kayak — weather permitting).
Water activities are optional and only available when conditions are safe. On windy days or when local restrictions apply, access to the gorge by boat/kayak may be limited.
Format: small group · typically 4–7 people · pickup in Nice / Antibes / Cannes (others on request) · full day

What you’ll see in one day
The Verdon is the perfect mix of water, cliffs and “real Provence” on the road. We show the gorge from the best viewpoints and give you time at the lake — and if conditions allow, you can also experience Verdon from inside by boat or kayak.
Verdon Gorge — the iconic canyon views
Limestone cliffs, incredible depth and that unique Verdon color. We stop at the most impressive points so you can really feel the scale — and get the photos you came for.
On the water (optional)
In season you can rent a pedal boat, electric boat or kayak and paddle into the gorge. This is often the most emotional moment of the day — Verdon from inside.
Lake Sainte-Croix
A bright turquoise lake surrounded by cliffs and hills. In warm months you can swim — a perfect reset in the middle of the trip.
Panoramic viewpoints (Route des Crêtes & more)
We choose viewpoints to show Verdon from different angles: canyon bends, depth, water color and real “volume”. You’ll have time for photos and for simply enjoying the scenery.
Moustiers-Sainte-Marie — lunch & stroll
A fairytale Provençal village known for its cobbled streets, artisan shops and famous ceramics. It’s the best place to slow down, have lunch and feel the “real Provence” vibe.
Scenic drive & wildlife moments
Verdon is not only about the lake. The high panoramic roads are breathtaking — and sometimes you can spot birds gliding above the canyon.
Coffee breaks & authentic Provence
We add short scenic stops so the day doesn’t feel like “just driving”. Little villages, viewpoints and calm moments make the trip feel like a real story.
