Group excursion to the Luberon from Nice, Antibes & Cannes · Provence villages · lavender in season
Group Excursion to the Luberon — Gordes, Sénanque Abbey & Provence Villages
The Luberon is Provence at its most iconic: hilltop stone villages, abbeys, ochre landscapes, panoramic roads and, in season, lavender near Sénanque and on Plateau d’Albion. This excursion is designed for travelers who want to discover the “classic Provence” in a comfortable small-group format, with a clear price and beautifully balanced route.
Format: group of 3–8 guests · duration ~11–12 hours · departures from Nice / Antibes / Cannes · comfortable licensed sedan or minivan
Book the Luberon group excursion
This excursion runs in a small group format. In the comments, you can mention your departure city, number of guests and any practical details. If you have questions about pickup logistics or lavender timing, contact us in advance via Contacts.
How the group excursion works
This is not a private tour, so the day follows a carefully planned group logic: route, pickup structure and timing are organized in advance. That is exactly what keeps the excursion comfortable instead of turning it into a long morning of hotel pickups.
If the group is small, we may use a comfortable sedan. If the group is larger, we use a licensed minivan. In both cases, the vehicle is approved for passenger transport.
Sometimes we collect guests from addresses, and sometimes we set a convenient meeting point. It depends on how many separate bookings there are and where guests are staying.
If a group includes many separate solo bookings, picking up each address may waste too much time. So in group format, efficient logistics help save more of the day for Provence itself.
What this means in practice
If the group is made up of just two or three compact parties, we can often collect guests from their addresses. But if the day includes many separate bookings in different areas, we may assign a convenient meeting point in Nice, Antibes or Cannes.
This is done to keep the day efficient and avoid losing too much time before the actual excursion even begins.
What we visit on the Luberon excursion
The route combines Provence classics with seasonal adjustments. Some highlights are constant, while others depend on whether you travel during lavender season or outside it.
Gordes
One of the most beautiful villages in France — stone houses, hilltop views and the classic Provence atmosphere people imagine before they arrive.
Sénanque Abbey
One of the most iconic images of Provence. During lavender season, this stop becomes one of the most atmospheric parts of the day.
Roussillon — or another Luberon village
Outside lavender season, the third major stop may be Roussillon, but depending on timing and the day, we may also choose Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse or Lourmarin. During lavender season, these extra village stops are usually replaced by Plateau d’Albion and Sault.
During lavender season: Plateau d’Albion + Sault
In June and July, the route often extends toward Plateau d’Albion and the village of Sault. That’s where we focus on the best lavender fields of the moment instead of trying to fit in too many extra villages.
Why the route changes a little by season
In lavender season, there simply isn’t enough time to do everything well: village walks, abbey, panoramas and also a proper lavender extension. So when the fields are beautiful, we prioritize Plateau d’Albion + Sault.
Outside lavender season there is no reason to go to Albion, so we stay more focused on the Luberon itself and include more village atmosphere.
Lavender on this route: Luberon vs Plateau d’Albion
This excursion becomes especially strong in lavender season because it combines the classic beauty of the Luberon with the possibility of extending toward Plateau d’Albion, where lavender often stays beautiful later.
Early in the season, the Luberon side already looks strong, and Sénanque can be one of the most atmospheric lavender stops.
This is when the route becomes especially beautiful: abbey, villages and, when needed, Plateau d’Albion + Sault.
Without lavender, the focus shifts naturally to villages, ochre landscapes, viewpoints and the atmosphere of inland Provence.
